The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will host a come-and-go style public involvement meeting at West Blocton High School in Bibb County to discuss a proposed intersection improvement project involving a roundabout at SR-5 and Vance Road.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can view exhibits and speak with ALDOT representatives regarding the project.
The project includes a single-lane roundabout northeast of the existing intersection. Concrete channelizing islands will be installed on each approach, along with a truck apron within the roundabout to accommodate larger vehicles. Rumble strips will be placed on the approaches to the roundabout, while new lighting will be installed at the intersection to improve safety.
Project maps and comment forms are also available online for those unable to attend.
West Blocton High School is located at 4734 Truman Aldrich Parkway, West Blocton, AL 35184.
