ALDOT will repair the southbound bridge on US-43 over Cedar Creek just south of Russellville in Franklin County on Tuesday, May 19, weather permitting.
A hole about one foot wide developed in the bridge deck Sunday, May 10. Crews covered the hole with a metal plate to make it safe for traffic in the short term.
To repair the concrete, ALDOT must temporarily close the southbound bridge. The northbound bridge will carry two-way traffic during this operation, which is planned to begin about 6 a.m. and may take most of the day. Please expect travel delays.

The southbound bridge on US-43 over Cedar Creek was constructed in 1955.
