ALDOT is resurfacing SR-77 in western Clay County outside of Ashland.
Crews began replacing the old driving surface with the first layer of asphalt in recent weeks.

The project will provide a smoother 7.6-mile ride for drivers from Idaho Road to the Talladega County line.
Single-lane closures will be required during the daytime milling and paving work.
The contractor should wrap up the work by the end of the summer, or early fall.
ALDOT thanks the public for its patience while we work to upgrade this important connection in western Clay County.
