The outside lane of I-85 southbound at Exit 39 remains closed following an overnight crash in which a vehicle struck the bridge.
Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) crews are currently making repairs to damaged guardrail and bridge rail components. The lane closure will remain in place until repairs can be completed and the lane is safe for travel.
Travelers should expect delays and plan accordingly. Drivers should observe the posted speed limit and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
