An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on US-331 in Highland Home begins Monday, July 27, weather permitting.
The project will take place on US-331 from Ronalds Road to the Montgomery County line.
The project includes resurfacing and traffic striping and placing a high-density mineral bond on the paved shoulder.
A high-density mineral bond is a pavement preservation treatment used to protect and extend the life of the roadway.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $1 million project was awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
