The US-231/US-431 Memorial Parkway mainline and overpass at Mastin Lake Road opened to northbound traffic this afternoon.
ALDOT advises drivers to use caution and reduce speed. The area remains an active work zone, with construction of various features of the $34 million project still underway.
Southbound mainline, intersection to open later
Southbound traffic continues to use only the southbound frontage road for now.
The contractor, Rogers Group, anticipates opening the mainline and overpass to southbound traffic in mid-October. Remaining and ongoing work items include constructing final sections of barrier rail and lighting foundations, lighting installation and paving.
The intersection of Mastin Lake Road with the frontage roads under the overpass should also open in mid-October, following paving.

On-ramp construction
Expect a lane closure on the northbound frontage road and a shoulder closure on the northbound mainline just south of Mastin Lake Road while Rogers Group constructs an on-ramp connecting the frontage road to the mainline.
