STATEWIDE UPDATE: Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
Over the last few days, ALDOT crews have worked around the clock preparing for Hurricane Isaias before it made landfall, then jumping into action to clear roadways impacted by storm debris and downed power lines.
While significant progress has been made restoring transportation routes, debris remains along some highways, particularly in the hardest-hit areas of South Alabama.
As night falls and the storm moves out of Alabama, our crews are going to take some much-deserved rest and attend to any impacts the storm had on their own families. Personnel will remain available overnight to respond to emergencies before resuming the recovery mission in the morning.
Motorists are urged to remain alert for roadside debris and use caution around cleanup and emergency crews.
