The railroad crossing on SR-36/Main Street in downtown Hartselle will close for one to two days next week for repairs.
Contractors for CSX Railroad anticipate closing SR-36 at the crossing about 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Depending on available track time for the repairs, the crossing could reopen later the same day or the closure could extend overnight and into Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The official detour, which must be used by commercial traffic, is I-65 to SR-67 at Priceville to US-31 in Decatur, to SR-36 in Hartselle and vice versa.
