Jason Shaw understands that in Baldwin County, roads do more than connect places, they support daily life, economic growth and tourism. As ALDOT’s District 92 Administrator, Shaw leads a team responsible for maintaining key roadways that serve residents, businesses and millions of visitors each year.
“Baldwin County is always moving,” Shaw said. “Our job is to make sure the roads are ready for that demand.”

A district with a big mission
District 92 plays a vital role in maintaining roadways across Baldwin County, one of the fastest-growing areas in Alabama. The district’s work helps ensure:
- Safe daily travel for residents
- Reliable routes for freight, schools and emergency services
- Smooth access to Alabama’s Gulf Coast beaches
- Efficient travel through expanding city centers
Baldwin County’s beaches are a major economic driver, especially during peak tourist seasons. Well-maintained highways and state routes are critical for safely moving large volumes of traffic to and from coastal communities.
In addition to beach travel, District 92 works closely with growing cities across the county to support development and manage traffic demands.
“As cities grow, traffic patterns change,” Shaw said. “Working with local partners helps us keep people moving safely and efficiently.”
People behind the work
Shaw credits the district’s success to the employees who handle maintenance, inspections and repairs in all conditions, from busy summer weekends to severe weather.
“Our crews understand how important their work is,” he said. “They take pride in serving both residents and visitors.”
District 92 depends on teamwork among maintenance crews, supervisors and project staff to respond quickly and keep roadways in good condition year-round.

Leadership through support
Shaw believes strong communication and support are key to effective leadership.
“When everyone works together, it shows in the quality of the roadway,” he said.

Serving a growing county
With continued growth and heavy seasonal traffic, Shaw says maintaining Baldwin County’s roadways remains a top priority.
“Our roads are the front door to our beaches, our cities and our communities,” he said. “District 92 is committed to keeping them safe, reliable and ready for everyone.”
Through teamwork and dedication, Shaw says District 92 will continue to keep Baldwin County moving, safely and efficiently.
