The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface a portion of I-20/59 from near Exit 68 to the I-359 interchange in Tuscaloosa to improve mobility and safety.
The 2.53-mile nighttime project is expected to begin Tuesday, Sept. 8, and will continue for approximately three months, weather permitting.
Lane closures will not be allowed between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. to reduce the impact on traffic. Additionally, lane closures will not be allowed on Saturdays when the University of Alabama has a home football game.
Drivers should expect possible delays during nighttime work and are encouraged to use caution in the work zone.
S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $2.68 million.
