Bridge rail repairs will begin next week on southbound Interstate 65 at mile marker 59 in Escambia County.
The contractor is scheduled to begin work Monday, Sept. 21, and expects the project to take seven calendar days to complete.
Traffic Impacts
- Location: Southbound I-65 at mile marker 59 near Wet Weather Creek.

- Lanes: Southbound I-65 will be reduced to one lane in the project area.
- Lane Closure: The left lane will remain closed throughout the project.
- Oversize Loads: No permits will be issued for loads more than 12 feet wide during the project.
Drivers traveling southbound on I-65 should expect slower traffic and allow extra time when approaching the work zone.
