Beginning Thursday, Oct. 22, the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) will begin utility relocation and water line work in the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project area.
Motorists should expect the following:
- Location: Westbound Claiborne Street, beginning at Canal Street and extending beyond the westbound on-ramp.
- Lane closure: Single right-lane closure.
- Hours: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily weekday closures.
- Anticipated completion: Dec. 15, 2026.
Crews will remove all lane closure devices, including signs, arrow boards and drums, by 3 p.m. each day. The roadway will return to its original configuration after 3:30 p.m.
Motorists should use caution, follow posted traffic control devices and remain alert for workers in the area. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
