Weather permitting, beginning at 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, the Alabama Department of Transportation will make guardrail repairs as follows:

  • At various times, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., segments of the I-65 outside (right) lane will be closed from Milepost 225.8 (Chilton County Line) to Milepost 248.3 (Jefferson County Line).
  • All travel lanes will be re-opened to traffic by 5 a.m. each morning.
  • The guardrail repairs will continue following this procedure for four consecutive nights (Monday through Thursday nights).

Motorists can expect delays during these operations. Motorists are also asked to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this maintenance operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
