The left turn lanes from the US-231/US-431/North Memorial Parkway service roads to Mastin Lake Road reopened today.
The northbound and southbound turn lanes closed in December for construction of the parkway overpass at Mastin Lake Road.
Left turn lanes open
Following installation of all bridge girders on the central span over the intersection and necessary modifications to turn lanes, concrete islands and traffic signals, left turns are again permissible.
Signals positioned under the partially-constructed overpass govern left turns from the service roads. Left turns may only be made from the designated turn lanes; left turns from the through lanes remain prohibited.
Ongoing construction
ALDOT advises motorists to exercise caution at the intersection due to ongoing construction of the overpass and four-lane mainline.
Temporary closures of the turn or through lanes will occasionally be necessary. Typically, those closures will be limited to non-peak travel hours.

ALDOT currently anticipates contractor Rogers Group completing the $34 million project in late spring or early summer of 2026.
