The Alabama Department of Transportation will be performing resurfacing, Cross-Slope corrections, Guardrail and End Anchor installation, and Bridge Guardrail Retrofit along SR-38 (US-280) from the CR-25 intersection to just east of Coosa Street intersection.
This project will require daily lane closures of SR-38 within the Milepost range given during the resurfacing phase. It will also have intermittent lane closures for the other items of work.
The project began on May 28, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed by late Fall 2025.
Motorists should adjust arrival/departure times. Please observe work zone speed limits, work zone signs, and use caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this project to improve Alabama’s roadways.
