The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) began a resurfacing project on I-65 in Montgomery this week.
The project includes resurfacing, guardrail installation and traffic striping on I-65 from Pintlala Creek to exit 167 (US-80).
Travelers can expect possible lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly for delays and adhere to the posted speed limit. Motorists should also be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $3.3 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2026.
