The US-82 and US-431 intersection relocation in Eufaula begins tomorrow, October 1.
The primary purpose of the project is to enhance safety along the corridor. Currently, US-82 intersects US-431 at a 45-degree angle; this project will reconfigure the intersection to a 90-degree angle. The new roadway will also feature wider shoulders, including two-foot paved shoulders.
No detours are expected but lane closures are likely throughout the project.
ALDOT urges drivers to drive the posted speed limit and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $3.4 million project was awarded to S.A. Graham Company, Inc., out of Brundidge, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
