ALDOT crews will make drainage improvements at the intersection of US-31 and SR-99/Elm Street in Athens on Tuesday, Nov. 4, weather permitting.
US-31 northbound will be closed between SR-99 and I-65. Traffic intending to travel north on US-31 will be rerouted to US-72 and I-65.
Work will start about 8 a.m. ALDOT anticipates reopening US-31 about 3 p.m.
ALDOT originally planned to complete the work Oct. 28 but rescheduled it due to inclement weather.
