The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin bridge repairs on Interstate 65 southbound over Catoma Creek just before exit 167, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

While the two primary travel lanes will be closed, motorists will not need to detour off the interstate. Traffic will be diverted into the two right-hand lanes, normally used for exiting.

Motorists will merge back into the two left travel lanes once they have passed the work zone and before reaching exit 167.

All work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly for delays and be mindful of equipment and people in the work zone.
