ALDOT is resurfacing SR-77 in western Clay County outside of Ashland.

Crews began replacing the old driving surface with the first layer of asphalt in recent weeks.

The new crossing is located about two miles east of the Martin Dam Hydroelectric Plant.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has finished replacing the SR-50 bridge over Wind Creek in Tallapoosa County.  

The $3.4 million crossing upgrade began in mid-2024. 

It is located two miles east of the Martin Dam Hydroelectric Plant.  

The SR-50 bridge over Wind Creek carries about 1,400 vehicles daily.

Traffic began travelling on the new SR-79 bridge over the Blackburn Fork in April 2025.

ALDOT is planning to replace one mile of concrete of I-459 at the I-65 interchange in Hoover.

ALDOT is proposing concrete replacement on I-459 in the heart of Hoover. The job would stretch from Lorna Road to the western edge of the Little Shades Creek east of I-65.

The work would also build new auxiliary lanes from I-65 to Acton Road to alleviate merging congestion in both directions.

SR-63 near US-280 in Alexander City has been closed for a bridge replacement since May 2025.

ALDOT is hopeful SR-63 could reopen by early July following a bridge replacement just south of US-280 in Alexander City.

ALDOT has kicked of an eight-mile resurfacing project on I-20 in Talladega.

Sunday night, the Alabama Department of Transportation kicked off nightly lane closures to start resurfacing eight miles of I-20 in Talladega.

The Chalkville Mountain Road ramps exiting and entering I-59 northbound should reopen by July.

The I-59 widening project in Trussville is shifting into its next significant phase.

Starting on Monday, May 18, weather permitting, ALDOT will close both I-59 northbound ramps at Chalkville Mountain Road (Exit 141).
