ALDOT reopens SR-63 at US-280 in Alexander City following a bridge replacement project.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has reopened SR-63 to traffic at US-280 following a bridge replacement project in Alexander City.

Closed since May 2025, the upgraded corridor offers a new bottomless arch bridge culvert over Sugar Creek.  It is 120 feet long, 36 feet wide and 17 feet tall.

ALDOT holding a Public Involvement Meeting in Alexander City on a project to update SR-22 intersection with US-280.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will host an open-house public involvement meeting to discuss a potential intersection improvement project at US-280 and SR-22 (Lee Street) in Alexander City.
