I-59 emergency slab repair to begin July 14

ALDOT's contractor will perform an emergency slab repair and replacement on I-59 between Fort Payne and Collinsville. The effects of the underlying concrete slabs deteriorating can be seen northbound near Portersville Gap Road.

ALDOT lets project to improve operations on SR-35 in Fort Payne

ALDOT opened bids Friday, June 27, for a project to improve operations on SR-35 near I-59 in Fort Payne.

Part of I-59S closes for reconstruction in DeKalb, Etowah counties

Five miles of I-59 southbound between Collinsvile and Reece City closed this week for reconstruction. Traffic is rerouted to the northbound roadway.

Several miles of the aging concrete I-59 roadway in southern DeKalb County and northern Etowah County closed this week for reconstruction.

Meeting set for proposed widening of SR-75 in Rainsville

ALDOT will hold in-person and online meetings to share information and receive comments on a proposal to widen the segment of SR-75 in Rainsville highlighted in green.

ALDOT will hold in-person and online public involvement meetings this month for a proposed road widening project in DeKalb County.

Bids opened for I-59 southbound reconstruction in DeKalb, Etowah counties

A segment of I-59 near Hammondville is undergoing reconstruction. While contractors removed and replace the pavement on one roadway, traffic is shifted to the inside of the opposing roadway via crossovers like the one visible at center.

The Alabama Department of Transportation opened bids last week for a project to reconstruct nearly 11 miles of I-59 southbound between Collinsville and Reece City.

Fort Payne sidewalk project to start Monday

During lane closures, northbound US-11/Gault Avenue through traffic will be detoured to First Street to Godfrey Avenue then to Fifth Street NE in Fort Payne.

A sidewalk improvement project on US-11/Gault Avenue in Fort Payne will start Monday, weather permitting.

I-59N closing, traffic shifting near Georgia line

The I-59 on- and off-ramps at Exit 239 (CR-140) at Sulphur Springs will be closed to traffic.

A contractor will close part of I-59 northbound in DeKalb County near the Georgia state line this afternoon for a $41 million roadway reconstruction project.

I-59 reconstruction north of Fort Payne to switch traffic

Crossovers have been constructed for the transition of traffic to and from the southbound I-59 roadway. This crossover will return traffic to the northbound roadway at the south end of the recently-constructed concrete segment.

Another segment of I-59 northbound in DeKalb County will soon close for reconstruction.

Contractors will remove and replace the entire northbound roadway from about milepost 229.5, north of Exit 224 (49th Street) in Fort Payne, to milepost 229, south of Exit 231 (SR-40/SR-117) in Hammondville.

Girders installed for the new SR-75 bridge
