Resurfacing of SR-24 in eastern Franklin County starts

The $2.9 million project will resurface SR-24 from CR-83, where another resurfacing project left off earlier this year, to the Lawrence County line, shown here.

A $2.9 million project to resurface 5.3 miles of SR-24 in eastern Franklin County began this week.

The project will pave the divided four-lane highway from CR-83 to the Lawrence County line. The contractor, Rogers Group, began milling Tuesday, Aug. 25.

SR-157 at SR-36 to be striped to improve safety

ALDOT plans to add striping and signs to improve safety at SR-157 and SR-36 in Lawrence County.

To improve safety, ALDOT will modify the intersection of SR-157 and SR-36 in Lawrence County with striping and signs this week.

ALDOT anticipates contractor TRP Infrastructure Services starting sign installation and paint work Wednesday, Aug. 26. Further striping will take place Friday, Aug. 28, and Saturday, Aug. 29.

TVA: Wheeler Dam to close March 20-23

The Wheeler Dam will be closed to all traffic from 7 p.m. Friday, March 20, to 5 a.m. Monday, March 23, TVA said.

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) today announced plans to fully close the SR-101 Tennessee River crossing for work on the Wheeler Dam bridge during an upcoming weekend.

TVA announces Wheeler Dam bridge work

The Wheeler Dam will be reduced to one 8-foot-wide lane while TVA refurbishes the bridge deck and replaces bridge joints.

The Tennessee Valley Authority today announced plans for bridge work on Wheeler Dam that will affect traffic on SR-101 beginning Sunday, Oct. 19.

Resurfacing of SR-20 in Lawrence County to start next week

A $2.9 million resurfacing project on SR-20 in Lawrence County will begin Monday, Aug. 18, weather permitting.

Contractor Wiregrass Construction will mill and resurface 5.5 miles of SR-20 from west of Kirby Road in Hillsboro to the Morgan County line.
