Widened section of US-280 now open in Jefferson County

ALDOT is opening the newly widened section of US-280 from Homewood to I-459 this week.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has opened the new widened configuration of US-280 this week.

The upgraded four-lane section boosts capacity between Shades Creek Parkway (SR-149) to I-459.
