Traffic on the Chattahoochee River bridge on US-82 in Eufaula will shift to two lanes on Monday, April 1, weather permitting.
The contractor will utilize the traffic shift and reduced lanes to progress work on the project.
All lanes are expected to reopen by July 2024.
The painting and rehabilitation project began in September 2023 to extend the life of the bridge.
The contractor has already completed the painting of the bridge and once this phase is complete will have minor work to do to complete the project ahead of schedule. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
For the safety of those traveling and working in the work zone, the reduced speed limit should be followed.
Motorists should plan accordingly for delays. No wide loads will be permitted during the traffic shift.
