The Alabama Department of Transportation will participate in a public involvement hearing sponsored by Mobile County from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on May 9, 2024, at Meadowlake Elementary School in Mobile. Through this hearing and its project website, ALDOT will receive input on options for relieving traffic congestion along McDonald Road and Three Notch-Kroner Road in Mobile County.
Two alternatives
In collaboration with the Mobile County Commission, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), engineers are proposing two alternatives to relieve traffic.
Alternative 1
Widen McDonald Road from Old Pascagoula Road to Three Notch‐Kroner Road and Three Notch‐Kroner Road to McFarland Road/Ben Hamilton Road.
Alternative 2
Construct McFarland Road on a new alignment beginning at the intersection of Old Pascagoula Road and ending at the intersection of McFarland Road/Three Notch‐Kroner Road.
Those who cannot attend the hearing in person can learn more about these alternatives, participate in the hearing online, and submit comments through the project website. The website provides maps, right-of-way information, an environmental study, a commenting form, a video, and more.
Anyone with a disability who requires special assistance may contact the ALDOT area office at (251) 547-3930 at least two days in advance of the meeting. The meeting facilities are wheelchair accessible.
All comments on this project must be submitted by May 27.
