ALDOT to resurface stretch of SR-17 in Pickens County

Jul 15

The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface and place new traffic striping on a stretch of SR-17 from the Aliceville city limits to the junction of CR-5 in Pickens County to improve mobility and safety.

The 4.8-mile project is expected to begin Monday, July 15 and will continue until late fall 2024, weather permitting. A pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.

S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $3.07 million.

Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
