The Alabama Department of Transportation will close SR-273 in Cherokee County on Tuesday, July 30, to replace a pipe under the roadway.
The highway will be closed to all traffic near milepost 7, north of CR-136. North and south of the closure, the highway will remain accessible to local traffic, but through traffic will be rerouted. The official detour is SR-68 to US-411 to SR-9 to SR-35 and vice versa.
Weather permitting, the closure will begin about 7 a.m. ALDOT anticipates reopening the road in the late afternoon.
