The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin a project on SR-27 from US-431 to SR-10 in Abbeville on Tuesday, weather permitting.
The project will include shoulder widening, resurfacing, and new traffic stripe.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and be mindful around workers and equipment.
The approximately $1.3 million project was awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by winter 2024.
