The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin resurfacing SR-147 in Auburn on Wednesday, October 9, weather permitting.
The project includes resurfacing from the Interstate 85 interchange to the intersection of North College Street in Auburn.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly for possible delays and to be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
Lane closures will not be permitted during Auburn University’s home football game weekends.
The approximately $6 million project was awarded to East Alabama Paving Company, Inc., out of Opelika, which had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed spring 2025.
