Planned ramp closures on I-65 southbound at Exit 284 (US-31/SR-160, Hayden/Corner Exit)

Oct 09

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will temporarily close the southbound entrance and exit ramps at the I-65 / SR-160 Interchange.

This closure will allow crews to make modifications to the intersection of the southbound ramps and SR-160.

During the same time, SR-160 will be reduced to one lane in the area near this intersection.

Both ramps and SR-160 are expected to be re-opened at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday, October 14.

During the same time, SR-160 will be reduced to one lane in the area near this intersection.

During the exit ramp closure, message boards will guide drivers to take Exit 282. From there, they should follow the signs to merge back onto I-65 northbound and then exit onto SR-160.

When the I-65 southbound entrance ramp is closed, message boards will direct drivers to use US-31 southbound. If you need to enter I-65 southbound, you can use Cane Creek Road, Old US-31, or Service Road.

These same ramp and lane closures will be in place from 8 p.m. on Monday, October 14, through 5:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18.

Motorists should consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
