The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is pleased to announce a major milestone in the Ross Clark Circle expansion project in Dothan.
On Sunday, Oct. 20, the project will introduce a revised traffic pattern, including opening both signalized intersections on the southern portion of the frontage roads.
Below are the traffic changes beginning Sunday, Oct. 20:
- ALDOT will temporarily close the signalized intersections at Chick-fil-A, Sam’s Club, and the mall entrance at McDonald’s.
- Direct access to businesses along the frontage roads on both sides of Ross Clark Circle from the main road will no longer be available. Drivers must utilize the frontage roads for entry.
- The frontage road inside the circle will have an exit-only, signalized intersection at the north end.
- The frontage road outside the circle will feature an entrance-only point at the north end.
- To enter the frontage road inside the circle, drivers must enter at the project’s south end.
- Southbound motorists on Ross Clark Circle must make a U-turn at Choctaw Street to reach the frontage road entrance.
This traffic pattern change is a temporary measure to facilitate the completion of remaining construction tasks.
After completion, the Ross Clark Circle expansion will improve capacity to move traffic more safely and efficiently.
