Traffic will move from the North Memorial Parkway (US-231/US-431) mainline to the newly constructed service roads near Mastin Lake Road in Huntsville next week, if weather permits.

Rogers Group, the contractor on the $34 million project, plans to begin shifting both northbound and southbound traffic to the service roads about 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 20. Subcontractor Shoals Electric has already installed new signals at the service road intersection with Mastin Lake Road. State troopers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

Overpass construction to come

The project will extend the Memorial Parkway expressway north of Mastin Lake Road. Now that the service roads are substantially complete, traffic must be moved from the mainline to allow construction of the overpass.

ALDOT advises motorists to expect brief traffic stoppages and other delays until about 3 p.m. Wednesday. Please drive with caution in the work zone and remain alert to changes to the traffic pattern.
