The Alabama Department of Transportation has completed a fiber infrastructure project along Interstate 65 in Chilton County that spanned approximately 21 miles.
The completed project will provide the Traffic Management Center with better technological capabilities to manage traffic flow. It is also expected to improve safety, mobility, commerce and travel-time reliability for motorists.
Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) were installed at mileposts 203 and 214, while 76 cameras were installed throughout the project limits.
Inline was awarded the project at $6.49 million.
