The Tuscaloosa Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recognized Terence Williamson as its 2024 Engineer of the Year. This award honors his outstanding contributions to civil engineering and infrastructure development in West Alabama.

Williamson serves as the construction engineer for the Alabama Department of Transportation’s (ALDOT) Tuscaloosa Area in the West Central Region. He oversees projects that enhance mobility, safety and economic development for the traveling public. The selection committee chose him for the award in recognition of his leadership on the US-82 Rebuild Alabama Act project from SR-69 to Rice Mine Road.

More than 50,000 vehicles use the corridor that links Northport and Tuscaloosa. The roadway now features an additional travel lane in each direction, improved access to businesses and a shared-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Williamson began his career at ALDOT in 2005 and earned his professional engineering license along the way. His dedication to excellence and commitment to public service made him a worthy recipient of this award.
