Event Details
- When: Monday, Feb. 17, 2025
- Where: Exploreum Science Center in Downtown Mobile
- Who: 75–100 high school students from Mobile and Baldwin counties
- Hosted by: American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) – Mobile Branch, ALDOT, and local industry professionals
What to Expect
- Meet the Engineers: Female industry leaders will share their career journeys and insights.
- Explore Career Paths: Students will learn about possible career opportunities in engineering.
- See the Impact: A private screening of Cities of the Future will highlight engineering’s role in shaping communities.
- Break Barriers: Panel discussions will encourage young women to see themselves in engineering.
Why It Matters
“As female leaders in engineering, we want young girls to see themselves with futures in engineering, even as engineers, and to one day be sharing their journey at events like these,” said Jenifer Eubanks, P.E., Mobile Area Assistant Construction Engineer for ALDOT. “I have been a part of outreach and workforce recruiting for ALDOT, ASCE, AGC, and other industry groups, and we are finding out that by making these connections early, we can break down barriers and show that engineering is an exciting and achievable career path.”
