Weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation and its contracted partner, Alabama Guardrail, Inc, will conduct guardrail repairs on I-20/59 eastbound/northbound Exit 124A (6th Avenue North), I-65 northbound Exit 259 (University Blvd.) and I-65 northbound Exit 260B (3rd Avenue North).
- Work will begin Sunday, March 9th, 2025, at 9:00 p.m.
- The project will require closing the ramps to traffic.
- Ramps are expected to be open to traffic Monday, March 10th, 2025, at 5:00 a.m.
Motorists should note the “Alabama Move Over Act” states Drivers should vacate the lane closest to Law Enforcement or Service Vehicles with flashing or rotating lights. If it’s not safe to Move Over, the driver should slow to a speed at least 15 mph less than the posted speed limit.
Motorists should consider using alternate routes and adjust arrival/departure times. Motorists should also observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
