Resurfacing project on SR-51 in Barbour County begins Tuesday

Mar 10

A resurfacing project on SR-51 in Barbour County begins Tuesday, March 11, weather permitting.

The project will take place on SR-51 from West Street in Louisville to SR-239 in Clayton.

This project includes micro-milling, resurfacing, and traffic stripe.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and be mindful around people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $2.4 million project was awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2025.
