Weather permitting, beginning at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 17th and 18th, the Alabama Department of Transportation will be performing pavement testing on I-20 eastbound and westbound from MP 147.700 (just east of Exit 147) to MP 164.820 (west end of the bridge over the Coosa River).

  • Work will take place between 9:a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Various mainline lanes and shoulders will be temporarily closed throughout the operation. Only one lane will be closed at a time in either direction.

Motorists can expect delays during these operations. Motorists are also requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
