Starting this Wednesday, March 26, construction will begin to install a new roundabout west of Samson in Geneva County. The roundabout will be installed at the intersection of SR-52 at SR-153 and CR-5.
Roundabouts have proven to be effective in enhancing road safety and reducing traffic congestion. According to the Federal Highway Administration, roundabouts typically result in a 35 percent decrease in all crashes, a 76 percent reduction in injuries, and a more than 90 percent decrease in fatalities.

ALDOT awarded Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc. of Dothan the $3 million contract for the project as the lowest bidder meeting all requirements. The Department expects the project to be complete Spring 2026.
