The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin a resurfacing project in Dale County on Wednesday, March 26, weather permitting.
Construction will include resurfacing and guardrail installation on US-231 from the Houston County line to CR-63 northwest of Midland City.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around workers and equipment.
The approximately $2.6 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. ALDOT expects the project to be complete in Summer 2025.
