The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface a portion of I-22 in Walker County from near Exit 51 to near Exit 57.
The project is expected to begin Wednesday, March 26 and will continue until fall 2025, weather permitting. At least one lane will remain open in each direction throughout the project.
Dunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $5.95 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
