Weather permitting, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, April 1-2, the Alabama Department of Transportation will shift lanes on I-65 northbound and southbound toward the outside, right shoulder. ALDOT will also narrow the travel lanes.
This condition will be in place from Exit 231 (US-31) to Exit 234 (CR-87). Two lanes will remain open in both directions other than nighttime, single lane closures from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
If weather prevents this work from being conducted Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the shift will occur on the next available night that weather allows.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes and adjust arrival/departure times. They are also urged to observe work zone speed limits and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama. For further information, visit www.dot.state.al.us.
