The Alabama Department of Transportation will replace the bridge over Sugar Creek and adjust grade along SR-63 from Milepost 27.925 to Milepost 28.334 (US-280 Intersection).
This project will require the closing of SR-63 within the Milepost given for a period of approximately 8 months. A detour route utilizing SR-128, Coven Abbett Road and US 280 will be in effect during the closure.
The project is scheduled to begin on April 14. Weather permitting, detour signs will be in place and this section of SR-63 will be closed on April 28, 2025.
Motorists should adjust arrival/departure times. Please observe work zone and detour speed limits, work zone signs, and use caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this project to improve Alabama’s roadways.
