The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has released its Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Report, available on the ALDOT website. The report highlights the department’s accomplishments and operations from Oct. 1, 2023, through Sept. 30, 2024, offering a detailed look at key achievements, initiatives and ongoing efforts to improve Alabama’s transportation infrastructure.

Milestones in Fiscal Year 2024

March 2024 marked five years since the passage of the Rebuild Alabama Act, which has fueled record investments across the state. Since its enactment, transportation funding has reached local projects in all 67 Alabama counties.

Over the past fiscal year, ALDOT awarded more than $15 million in state transportation funds through Rebuild Alabama, an annual grant program based on applications. This marks the first time funding has exceeded the program’s $10 million minimum required under the Rebuild Alabama Act. Cities and counties contributed $1.37 million in local matching funds to support awarded projects, which must begin within a year of receiving funds.

A Key Resource for Stakeholders

The ALDOT Annual Report gives residents and stakeholders a transparent look at the state’s transportation infrastructure, highlighting the department’s strategic initiatives, future plans and ongoing investments in Alabama’s transportation network. It also reinforces ALDOT’s commitment to transparency and community engagement.
