The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will host a come-and-go style public meeting to discuss a proposed project on US-231 in Wetumpka.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wetumpka Civic Center where members of the public can ask questions and view exhibits regarding the project.

The proposed project on US-231 aims to improve traffic flow and address safety concerns. The project will modify access and reduce conflict points along US-231 from Charles Avenue to South Main Street.

Modifications will include concrete islands and U-turn lanes to reduce unsafe turning movements along the corridor.

More information on the proposed project, including maps and a place to leave comments can be found on ALDOTInvolved.com. All comments must be submitted by Friday, May 9, 2025.

The Wetumpka Civic Center is located at 410 South Main Street, Wetumpka, Ala. 36092.
