The annual Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) state ROADeo was held on Wednesday, May 14 in Montgomery.
This competition puts ALDOT’s most skilled equipment operators to the test. Each operator won their area event to earn the opportunity to compete at the state ROADeo in Montgomery.
These operators competed in various categories, showcasing their expertise in maneuvering large vehicles and equipment through challenging courses. The participants demonstrated their ability to operate efficiently, precisely and safely in seven different categories.

The ROADeo promotes skill advancement for heavy equipment operators, safety awareness and employee morale. During the event, the best equipment operators are recognized in a friendly, competitive atmosphere.
The winners of each event will make up the ALDOT team for the Southeastern Regional Equipment ROADeo held in Kentucky this September.
