The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to close the Welcome Center on I-20 westbound near Milepost 213 the morning of June 9th .
The Welcome Center is contracted for renovation, addition, new lighting, and resurfacing. The Welcome Center will remain closed until completion, which is estimated to be February 2027.
Motorists should adjust accordingly. Please observe work zone signs and use caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this project to improve Alabama’s roadways and facilities.
