Planned ramp closures on I-65 SB, in Blount County

Jun 09

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will periodically close the southbound entrance and/or exit ramps at the I-65/SR-160 interchange to perform paving operations.

The southbound ramps are expected to be re-opened by 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.

  • For the closure of the exit ramp from I-65 southbound, message boards will be in place to direct motorists to proceed to Exit 282 to detour back to I-65 northbound to exit onto SR-160 from I-65 northbound.
  • For the closure of the I-65 southbound entrance ramp, message boards will be in place to direct motorists to use US-31 southbound. Motorists can enter I-65 SB via Cane Creek Road, Old US-31, or Service Road.

These same ramp closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. For real time traffic updates visit ALGO Traffic.

ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
