ALDOT crews are working this week on SR-73 in Jackson County to repair road damage caused by a burst water pipe.

The burst water pipe under SR-73 near milepost 3, between Higdon and Bryant, washed out the subbase of the highway, according to ALDOT maintenance personnel.

ALDOT’s Guntersville Area paving crew has been milling and paving to reconstruct a roughly 300-foot section of the road.

The work requires daily single-lane closures, with traffic controlled by flaggers. ALDOT anticipates completing the repair today.
